Kellie Dickerson lost her battle with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) – a rare neurodegenerative disorder which she was diagnosed three years ago.

The 53-year-old’s death was confirmed by her talent agency Working Management on Tuesday, January 9 in a statement on Instagram.

“Vale our gorgeous Kellie. It was both a joy and honour to be your friend and agent. You gave so much to so many. A true icon of the industry. Your energy, kindness and talent were boundless. You never gave up the fight, humour, grace or Wordle. Much love to Broady, Toni, John and family. Rest in Peace Kel. You are loved and missed always”

Dickerson was diagnosed with multiple system atrophy (MSA) in 2020 after suffering from symptoms such as low blood pressure and slurred speech in 2018.

MSA is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects different parts of the brain, impacting certain systems in the body, such as the motor and nervous systems.

These systems control blood pressure, heart rate, balance, and muscle movement and there is no cure.

Following her diagnosis, she retired from the theatre in 2020. As her condition worsened, she moved back to her hometown of Dubbo, NSW, to find solace and care with her parents.
