He admitted to being the passenger in the white Cadillac on the night of the incident and identified his nephew Orlando Anderson as the shooter. According to Davis, the motive behind the shooting was retaliation for an earlier altercation at the MGM Grand and a purported $1 million bounty by Puff Daddy.
The narrative took a legal turn on September 29, 2023, when Davis was apprehended by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police in connection with Tupac’s murder. A raid on his wife’s residence in Henderson, Nevada, conducted earlier on July 17, 2023, aimed to secure evidence related to the Shakur case, according to police documents. The arrest marks a significant development in the decades-long investigation into one of the most infamous incidents in hip-hop history.
