According to Davis, the motive behind the shooting was retaliation for an earlier altercation at the MGM Grand and a purported $1 million bounty by Puff Daddy.

The narrative took a legal turn on September 29, 2023, when Davis was apprehended by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police in connection with Tupac’s murder. A raid on his wife’s residence in Henderson, Nevada, conducted earlier on July 17, 2023, aimed to secure evidence related to the Shakur case, according to police documents. The arrest marks a significant development in the decades-long investigation into one of the most infamous incidents in hip-hop history.
