On November 11, 2012, Toscano-Anderson participated for 21 minutes against Colgate and had career-highs of nine points and nine rebounds. On November 19 in the 2012 Maui Invitational Tournament against Butler, he made his first collegiate start and contributed five points and six rebounds in a then-career-high 22 minutes. Against Green Bay on December 19, 2012, Toscano-Anderson had a career-high two blocks and added three rebounds. On December 29, Toscano-Anderson outscored North California Central by nine points, setting a season-high with three field goals and three free throws, both of which were career high.

On February 9, Toscano-Anderson collected four rebounds and one block while competing against DePaul. In the second round of the NCAA tournament in 2013, Toscano-Anderson started the game against Davidson. He played 16 minutes and pulled down two rebounds as Marquette defeated Davidson 59-58 on March 23. At the team’s playoff banquet, Toscana-Anderson subsequently won the Darius Johnson Odom “Sacrifice For The String” award.
