He is a professional mixed martial artist who competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and is the current UFC Heavyweight Champion.

He was born into a family of four children. One of his older siblings, Arthur, played as a defensive lineman for several American football teams including the Baltimore Ravens, Indianapolis Colts, and Washington Redskins. However, he did not disclose the name of his fourth daughter.
On February 23, 2022, Jones took to Twitter to announce that Jessie had left him about two months prior. However, the couple has since reconciled, and Jessie even accompanied Jones to the cage after he won the heavyweight title at UFC 285 on March 4, 2023.
