Jay Park Announces Retirement as CEO of H1GHR and AOMG Music

Jay Park, a former 2PM member turned solo artist, startled fans on December 31 when he revealed via social media that he will be stepping down as CEO of both AOMG and H1GHR Music, the two music labels he created in 2013 and 2017, respectively.

However, Jay Park has stated that he will remain involved with the two labels as an advisor for AOMG and H1GHR Music.

Cha Cha Malone, who co-founded H1GHR Music with the rapper, will now serve as the label’s sole CEO.

Along with his statement, Jay Park extended his heartfelt gratitude to fans, AOMG and H1GHR Music artists, and his crew for their support over the years.

According to Jay Park, the choice to stand aside as CEO of the two labels required a lot of thought and passion, and he admitted that 2021 was a difficult year for him.

Jay Park canceled his personal Instagram account a day after his declaration on January 1, raising concern among fans and fueling speculation that the rapper might be leaving the entertainment industry entirely.

This comes after Jay Park posted a mysterious statement on social media on December 30, saying, “If ever I retire or disappear, make sure that you will miss me.”

Jay Park fans have been growing increasingly concerned about the artist’s probable retirement, so the “Me Like Yuh” rapper turned to Twitter to address the rumours.

A few hours later, he tweeted about his retirement, with one fan adding that others are apprehensive since they are “unsure what it means for fans.” The fan also inquired about what it would be like for supporters if he did retire.

The Asian singer responded by assuring fans that he is not yet retiring and plans to produce at least one or two more albums before doing so.
