After two seasons in the AHL, Jones joined the Los Angeles Kings and made his NHL debut on December 3 and earned a 3–2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks. In that game, he stopped all nine shooters he faced in a shootout, securing his first NHL win.

Jones gained more recognition after winning the Stanley Cup in 2014 with the Kings. He played an important part of the title winning team as a backup goaltender.

After the successful year with the Kings, he was traded to the San Jose Sharks, where he assumed the role of the starting goaltender. His towering figure helped him establish himself as one of the finest netminder with a knack for making crucial saves.

Jones’ impressive performances with the Sharks helped them to the Stanley Cup Final in 2016, losing out to eventual winners Pittsburgh Penguins.
