What are some of Miriam Adelson philanthropy works?

The renowned Doctor is a gem when it comes to giving back to the community and inspiring the less privileged ones.

The Adelsons established the Adelson Family Charitable Foundation in 2007, with claimed ambitions to donate $200 million per year to Jewish and Israeli causes, including Birthright Israel. They have also publicly supported the Israeli-American Council, a Holocaust museum and memorial in Jerusalem, a Jewish day school in Las Vegas, a medical research facility in Boston, a medical school in the West Bank, and Israeli military fundraising efforts.

Miriam Adelson has been particularly vociferous in response to recent bloodshed in Israel and Gaza. “If you condemn Hamas and then add a ‘but’ followed by condemnation of Israel, you’re dead to us,” Adelson said in Forbes Israel this week.

Meanwhile, Miriam became a physician and, finally, the chief internist in the emergency room at Tel Aviv’s Rokach (Hadassah) Hospital. After divorcing her first spouse, she enrolled at Rockefeller University in 1986 as an associate physician specializing in drug addiction. She was mentored there and later collaborated for two decades with Mary Jeanne Kreek, who was well-known for developing methadone therapy for heroin addiction.
