Manage Performance Mode
Samsung Galaxy S8 has many preset performance modes that users can also customize according to their desires.
The four modes available on the device are:
- Optimized (set as default and also recommended by the company)
- Game mode
- Entertainment mode
- High performance mode
All of these modes have different brightness types, screen resolutions, and mode-specific settings. In essence, switching to game mode activates the Game Launcher feature on the device.
You can also customize the screen resolution on your device — lower screen resolution, longer battery life.
You can switch from WQHD+ high resolution display to FHD+ or HD+ depending on the application being used.
If you’re watching HD movies, you should enable the WQHD+ screen, but if you’re using apps like WhatsApp, you should switch to HD+ and save some battery life.
Auto Brightness and Screen Timeout
By default, Samsung Galaxy S8 has auto brightness turned on and you should switch it to manual mode to save battery.

Bixby currently works as a personal assistant — serving you with the latest news and events — but lacks the ability to voice support that could be added in a later update.
