One of the biggest benefits of the iPhone and iPad is how Apple tends to seamlessly integrate hardware and software to streamline actions that we’ve deemed simple enough. FaceTime is easily one of them, providing Apple users with smooth audio and video calling using nothing other than their phone number or Apple ID.

However, like any video calling service, if you use cellular data to make FaceTime calls, you could soon run out of data. This is especially true if you use FaceTime for video calling, as the smoothness of the app means it consumes data fairly quickly.
Thankfully, there are a few different ways you can see FaceTime data usage across all of your iOS devices. And while Apple’s information doesn’t determine (yet) whether your calls were made over cellular or Wi-Fi, being able to access current information allows you to easily estimate how much data is available. cellular that a FaceTime call will actually use.

On your iPhone via the Phone App
On your iPhone, locate Phone application and open it. Once done, tap Recently options at the bottom of the screen.
This screen shows all your recent calls, include calls made via FaceTime, it will show up under your contact’s name.
Find the FaceTime call you want to know, then tap the info icon to the right of the contact. There, you’ll see the date and time you made the call, and most importantly, the exact amount of data used in each call.
It’s also a neat touch as your iOS devices let you know if you’re making a call using another device. That way, when you see actual data usage, you’ll know it was used on the device you’re testing.
On your iPhone or iPad via the FaceTime App
This method is even simpler. On your iPhone or iPad, open the FaceTime app and find the call you want details about in either Videotapes or sound.
When you find the call, tap the info icon to the right of the contact and you’ll see details of the data used by that particular call.
Important Note: If your iPad supports cellular data, the information you see will include calls made over the cellular network. Otherwise, it will only include calls made over Wi-Fi.
On your iPhone or iPad (with cellular data) via Settings
On your mobile-enabled iOS device, open Setting app and then tap Mobile.
There, look for FaceTime and you will see the data used with the app directly under its name.
Important Note: Unless you reset your mobile data stats, the data shown here will indicate lifetime data usage. Also, note that this metric probably provides the best way to track proprietary FaceTime cellular data usage.
