The STG is an iconic assault rifle from Call of Duty’s past, previously featuring heavily in the historical settings of the series. Now, it’s arrived in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone.
Players can unlock this brand-new weapon as part of the Season 5 Battle Pass, and they’ll certainly want to make it a priority. The weapon description describes it as ‘hard-hitting’, indicating that it deals a fair amount of damage. Pair that with a predictable and controllable recoil pattern, and you’re on for a winning combination.
If you want to cop the STG for yourself in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone, here’s how you can do it.
How to get the STG in MW3 Season 5

You must complete Sector 7 of the MW3 Seaosn 5 Battle Pass to add the STG to your weapon inventory. This is straight up from the starting position, meaning you’ll need to complete 20 Battle Pass levels before unlocking the weapon.
The STG is part of the free version of the Battle Pass, so you won’t need to spend any money if you don’t want to. However, you will need to do a bit of grinding. I recommend loading into the Small Map Mosh Pit and grinding out as many daily and weekly challenges as possible.
I’ve found that this is the quickest way to earn XP quickly in Modern Warfare 3, especially when you use up all the Double XP Tokens you have lying around.
If you don’t mind dropping a bit of cash to get the weapon faster, you can purchase the BlackCell version of the Battle Pass. This will unlock the start of Sector 7 for you, giving you a big head start on levelling up the weapon and equipping those all-important attachments.
Once you have the weapon unlocked, you might want to aim to unlock a Blueprint for the STG. There’s one included at the end of Sector 19 of the Battle Pass, so you’ll need to do lots more grinding to get there.
After you’ve unlocked the STG, you’ll be able to use it in both MW3 Multiplayer and Warzone.
