How to Send Snaps From Camera Roll (As a Normal Snap)

To send a snapshot from your photo library as a regular snapshot, you need to download the LMK app.

On the LMK app, you’ll be able to select a photo from your camera roll and send it as a normal snapshot.

Whenever you send a snap on Snapchat, you have to take a photo/video on the spot.

If you send a photo from your camera roll, it will be sent as a photo in the chat.

But what if you’re looking to send a photo or video from your camera roll as a normal snapshot?

Maybe someone is asking to see your snapshot, but you’re busy.

Or maybe you’re looking to continue a memory with someone without actually taking a photo/video.

Luckily, there’s a legit way to do this without any black borders, filters, or watermarks.

Here are 8 quick steps to sending a snapshot from your photo library as a regular snapshot.

  1. Choose a photo from your camera roll
  2. Click edit and save it
  3. Download the LMK app
  4. Click on the “+” icon and select “post”
  5. Select the camera icon and use your saved post

1. Choose a photo from your camera roll

First, open Snapchat and tap the camera icon in the middle of the bottom navigation bar.

Open Snapchat > camera icon > select the photo/video that you want to send as a normal snapshot.

Then swipe up to access your Snapchat memories.

Once you’re in your memories, tap “Camera Roll” to open your photo library.

Select the photo/video to which you want to send the snapshot as a normal snapshot.

This works with any photo or video, so you don’t have to worry about your media selection.

You can also use old photos/videos.

Let’s say you selected a photo and sent it to one of your friends.

If you do, the photo will be a photo in the chat instead of a snapshot, so you don’t want to do that.

Instead, you need to go back, select the photo, and edit it.

2. Click edit and save it

Once you’ve selected a photo or video from your photo library that you want to send as a normal snapshot, you need to edit the photo.

Press and hold the photo for 3 seconds, select “Edit photo”, then save the photo.

This will remove the two black bars on the image.

To edit a photo, touch and hold the photo for 3 seconds.

The navigation menu will then open with 5 different options—Export Photo, Delete Photo, Just My Eyes, Edit Photo, and Send Photo.

The option that you want to select is “Edit Photo”.

After you have selected “Edit Photo”, you will come to the editing screen.

On the edit screen, you’ll see two black bars on the photo—one at the top and one at the bottom.

The reason for editing the photo is to remove the black bars.

If you don’t edit the photo, sending it as a snapshot will have two black bars that don’t look real.

Next, tap the “Share” icon at the bottom left of your screen.

Finally, tap “Save Image” to save the image to your camera roll.

This will make it look like you took the photo from Snapchat and not the phone’s camera.

3. Download the LMK app

Next, download the LMK (Let Me Know) app: Q&A and Make Friends.

Search for “LMK” on the App Store/Google Play Store and download the app.

It is available on both the App Store and the Google Play Store.

You can download the app from the links above or search for “LMK”.

This app allows you to ask questions or poll through stickers.

It can also be used to send a snapshot from your camera roll like a normal snapshot.

For this tutorial, you will use this app to send photos/videos from your camera roll as regular snapshots (aka Fake Snapshots).

Once you have downloaded the app, open it and connect your Snapchat to it by tapping the “Sign in with Snapchat” button.

Follow the on-screen instructions until you’ve successfully signed in with Snapchat.

Once you’ve selected your previously saved photo or video, tap “Post to Snapchat” to post to Snapchat.

Click “Post to Snapchat” to post the photo/video to Snapchat.

After you tap “Post to Snapchat,” your photo will be in the background.

Once you have tapped “Post to Snapchat”, it will open the Snapchat app and your previously saved photos will be in the background.

Since LMK is a Q&A app, there will be a Q&A sticker above your photo.

7. Remove stickers and attachments

Snapchat stickers

Next, you’ll want to remove stickers and attachments from the LMK app.

Remove a sticker by dragging and dropping it to the trash, and delete an attachment by tapping the “Paperclip” icon > “Delete Attachment”.

Remove stickers and attachments that make the photo/video look like a legitimate snap.

Stickers and attachments are automatically generated, so you’ll want to remove them so your snaps look real.

Stickers are similar to Instagram stickers, where you can drag to move and remove it.

Simply drag the photo at the bottom of the screen to the trash and the sticker will be removed.

There will also be an attachment letting people know that the snapshot is from the LMK app.

To delete an attachment, tap the “Paperclip” icon on the left side of your screen.

After you tap the “Paperclip” icon, it will open the LMK app.

Once the LMK app is open, tap “Delete Attachment” to remove the attachment from your photo/video.

Now the photo/video looks legit as if you just took it like a normal Snapchat snap.

8. Send Snapshots!

Snapchat send snaps

Finally, tap the arrow icon and your friends/recent friends list will open.

Once you send a photo/video from the LMK app, it will be sent as a normal snapshot.

The photo/video will be marked as “Sent” and “Received” instead of appearing in the chat.

Select the friend(s) you want to send the photo to and tap the arrow icon to send it.

After you send the photo/video, it will be marked as “Sent”.

As you can see, the photo/video you sent is not the photo/video in the app.

Instead, the person who receives it will have to open it like a normal snap of a finger.

Conclusion

In Snapchat, snapshots can only be sent if you take a photo or video on the spot.

However, you can bypass this by installing the LMK application as mentioned in this article.

If you use the LMK app, you can use an existing photo or video in your photo library and send it as a regular snapshot.

This trick will allow you to send multiple shots from your camera roll like a normal shot.

Just make sure to remove the stickers and attachments and you’re good to go.

Happy fishing!
