use pins or pattern matching. Sometimes it becomes very annoying when the phone asks you for the password even when you do some basic operations.
Only some apps on Android like gallery, mail, messaging etc contain sensitive and private data that users need to watch out for. Do you think locking these sensitive apps is better than locking your phone with a password?

Set up Smart App Defender
Smart App Protector is free software for Android that can help you lock specific apps on Android. To get started, download and install the main Smart App Protector app from the market and launch it. When you run the app for the first time, it will ask you to install the Smart App Protector helper app from the market. This app will make sure that the main app services are not killed when using any third party app killer for Android.
The app’s default password is 7777 but you can change it using the app settings. If you want to change the password type from pin to pattern, you can also do that in Password & Pattern Settings. And after you have configured the security settings, it’s time to add the app to the security list.
To protect an app with a password, open the Running tab on the app and tap the Add button. Now select all the apps you want to protect from the pop-up list and tap the . icon Add button.
That’s it, you can now close the app. From now on, whenever you try to open these protected apps directly or use other apps (for example, when you are sharing files), you will have to provide the correct password to perform.
Reset Password
If you want to set up a password reset in case you forget your password then select the option Key initialization from the app’s settings menu. You can now choose the type of authentication you want to have in case you forget your password.
In the future, if you forget your password and enter it incorrectly more than five times, the key generation feature will automatically pop up for you. It will then ask you about the security question you configured in the app. After providing the correct answer, the password will be restored to the default of 7777 and you can configure a new password from the app.
