Zorua, the Tricky Fox Pokemon, is a rare encounter in Pokemon GO. While you can find Zorua year-round, this Dark-type Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild during Pokemon GO Halloween 2023 Part II from October 26, 2023 to October 31, 2023.
Furthermore, completing the Trick or Treat–themed Timed Research that will be available during Halloween 2023 Part II awards guaranteed encounters with Zorua!
Zorua is Ditto-like in that it can transform and disguise itself as other Pokemon. However, while Ditto copies specific Pokemon in Pokemon GO, Zorua disguises itself as whichever Pokemon you’re using as your Buddy Pokemon.
While you’re exploring the Map View in Pokemon GO, keep an eye out for duplicates of your Buddy Pokemon because they could be a Zorua! To make finding Zorua easier, swap your Buddy Pokemon for a Shiny Pokemon or a Pokemon that doesn’t pop up often, like a Legendary.
Since Zorua copies Shiny status, costumes, Best Buddy ribbons, Shadow and Purified auras, and even Mega Evolutions, selecting a unique Buddy Pokemon will make spotting a disguised Zorua a lot easier. Even better, if you already have a Zorua but want to capture more for Candy, you can make Zorua your Buddy and block Zorua from using Illusion.
A disguised Zorua will maintain its disguise even after you confront it. To reveal whether the wild Pokemon is truly Zorua, you must capture it!

Yes, Zorua can be Shiny! Back when Zorua debuted in Pokemon GO in 2022, Zorua’s Shiny variant did not exist. But, starting October 26, 2023, lucky Trainers can encounter Shiny Zorua.
Pokemon GO Zorua Evolutions: How to get Zoroark
Zorua is part of a two-stage evolution family. To evolve your Zorua into a Zoroark, simply feed it 50 Zorua Candy. If you’re struggling to get enough Candy, remember you can set Zorua as your Buddy to find Candy while you’re out exploring together.
