Smoliv is the next Paldea native to join the ranks of Pokemon GO, so you might be wondering how to catch it and whether or not it can be Shiny.

How to get Smoliv in Pokemon GO

Starting October 12, 2023, with the Harvest Festival event, Trainers will be able to catch Smoliv, the Olive Pokemon, for the first time in Pokemon GO.
You can find Smoliv in wild encounters, with Smoliv appearing more frequently during the Harvest Festival and when a Mossy Lure Module is active at a PokeStop. Remember, you can check the ‘Nearby’ feature to see if there are any Smoliv in your area.
Alternatively, completing certain Harvest Festival-themed Field Research tasks will net you a guaranteed encounter with Smoliv! We’ll update this page with details of the specific Field Research tasks you need to look out for when the event begins.
Can Smoliv be Shiny in Pokemon GO?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to get Shiny Smoliv in Pokemon GO. At least not yet!
New Pokemon rarely debut alongside their Shiny variants, so this isn’t too surprising. It’s likely that Shiny Smoliv will arrive during a future Paldea or Grass-themed event, so keep an eye out!
Smoliv Evolutions: How to get Dolliv and Arboliva

Smoliv is part of a three-stage evolution family. Smoliv evolves into Dolliv, and Dolliv evolves into Arboliva. You can use 25 Smoliv Candy to evolve Smoliv into Dolliv. Feed a Dolliv 100 Smoliv Candy to evolve it into Arboliva.
That’s everything you need to know to get Smoliv and its evolutions in Pokemon GO. Your first opportunity to capture this Grass/Normal-type Pokemon is during the Harvest Festival starting October 12, 2023.
