The world of Palia is sprawling with fields of flowers, hilly forests, and rocky beaches that offer a range of activities like fishing, foraging, mining, and others that you can engage with to get resources, earn Gold, and so on. In the process, there are times when players come across unique items in Palia that trigger special quests called Found Item Quests.
Trapped in Time is one such quest in the game that you trigger once you find an item called Amber Fossil. However, many players fail to unlock and complete the quest since it is a random discovery.

How to find the Amber Fossil in Palia

In Palia, you can find Amber Fossil while cutting down the large Heartwood trees, the enormous Pine-like trees found all around Bahari Bay, the second area in the game that you can easily access starting early in the game via Kilima Village.
The drop depends on RNG, so keep chopping the big Heartwood trees, and you will eventually get the Amber Fossil. Once that happens, you will trigger the “Trapped in Time” quest.

As mentioned earlier, Trapped in Time is one of the Found Item Quests in Palia that will ask you to “Bring the Amber Fossil to Jina for identification.” You can find Jina in the Mirror Pond Ruins, and if she’s not there, simply open the map and look around Kilima Village, and you will find her icon.
Once Jina assesses the Amber Fossil, you will progress the quest, and then you will get to decide whom you should give the Amber Fossil as a gift.
There are five different NPCs whom you can give the Amber Fossil to complete the Trapped in Time quest to improve your relationship with them while earning some lucrative rewards.
