How to craft armour & weapons in Black Myth: Wukong

A key part of progression and getting more powerful in Black Myth: Wukong is crafting new armour and weapons along your journey.

As is typical of crafting, it requires you to spend resources and currency, with it scaling as the gear becomes better. Here’s everything you need to know about the system.

Crafting armour and weapons unlocks at different points during the first chapter of the game.

  • Armour crafting is available once you reach the Guanyin Temple Shrine
  • Weapon crafting unlocks after defeating the Whiteclad Noble boss

How to craft armour & weapons

You can craft both at any Shrine once you activate it. Just select the ‘Craft’ option, and then pick what you want to make.

Both armour pieces and weapons typically require you to spend Will (the main currency in the game), and then a combination of common materials and rarer materials. Higher tier gear costs more Will and materials in total.

The common materials are found from defeating standard enemies, opening chests, or purchasing them at the shop, while rarer materials are often dropped from boss fights, though some chests will also yield such items.

As you continue playing the game, at certain Shrines and after specific boss fights, you’ll unlock new armours and weapons to craft, so always keep an eye out on what you can make next.

For the most part, each new armour set or weapon is a linear upgrade over the previous, but later in the game, there is more choice based on the additional stat bonuses they provide.
