If you want to play the Abattoir of Zir event in Diablo 4, you must know how to complete Season 2 Journey, as it is a mandatory requirement for unlocking the end-game event.
As you may already know, Diablo 4 Season 2, the Season of Blood, is currently underway. With that, we have a seven-chapter long Season Journey that players can progress and complete to get rewards ranging from Aspects and cache to equipment and mounts.

How to complete Season 2 Journey and rewards

There are seven Chapters in Diablo 4 Season of Blood, each requiring a certain number of challenges that you must complete to progress further.
Once you finish all seven chapters, the Season Journey will be complete, and you can claim all the rewards and participate in the Abattoir of Zir event.
Here are all the details on how to complete each chapter alongside their rewards:
Chapter 1 challenges & rewards
- The Crimson Garden: Collect 10 Reddamine, found in Dry Steppes
- Kind Stranger: Complete 3 priority or side quests
- What Lurks Below: Complete a Cellar
- Waste Not: Salvage 7 Common items at the Blacksmith or Jeweler
- Across The Golden Wastes: Complete 2 Dungeons in Dry Steppes
- Trouble In The Wilds: Complete a World Event
- A Drop of Blood: Activate a Vampiric Power, available after completing or skipping the campaign
- Contract Forged: Equip a piece of Pact Armor, available after completing or skipping the campaign
Here are the rewards for completing six of the eight challenges above:
- Greater Favor
- First Journey Cache
- Aspects:
- Wanton Rupture (Barbarian only)
- Raw Might (Druid only)
- Aspect of the Long Shadow (Necromancer only)
- Aspect of Artful Initiative (Rogue only)
- Battle Caster’s (Sorcerer only)
Chapter 2 challenges & rewards
- Forsaken Offering: Obtain 2 caches from the Tree of Whispers by completing Whispers
- Vault Delver: Complete 8 Cellars
- Ruins Reclaimed: Conquer a Stronghold
- Finer Clarity: Upgrade your potion to Minor at the Alchemist
- Path to Strength: Unlock 8 Aspects in the Codex of Power, such as through completing dungeons
- Baptized In Blood: Reach level 25
- Deliver Us From Evil: Rescue 5 Villagers within the Blood Harvest, available after completing or skipping the campaign
- Vampire No More: Defeat a Blood Seeker, available after completing or skipping the campaign
- Tides of Blood: Activate a Vampiric Power that requires at least 3 Pacts, available after completing or skipping the campaign
- Contract Reforged: Add or remove Pacts from a piece of armour, available after completing or skipping the campaign
- Bejeweled: Craft a Gem at the Jeweler
You need to complete nine of the eleven challenges above to unlock the following rewards:
- Greater Favor
- Second Journey Cache
- Aspects:
- Aspect of Berserk Fury (Barbarian only)
- Aspect of The Stampede (Druid only)
- Aspect of Frenzied Dead (Necromancer only)
- Aspect of Quickening Fog (Rogue only)
- Stable Aspect (Sorcerer only)
Chapter 3 challenges & rewards
- Grim Claim: Obtain 5 caches from the Tree of Whispers by completing Whispers
- Champion Of The Lost: Conquer 3 Strongholds
- Wonders Distilled: Craft 5 Elixirs of any type at the Alchemist
- Touching The Eternal: Unlock 16 Aspects in the Codex of Power, such as through completing Dungeons
- Exceptional Potency: Upgrade your potion to Light at the Alchemist
- Novice Reaper: Reach Reputation Level 3 in the Blood Harvest, available after completing or skipping the campaign
- Lancing Boils: Destroy Blood Blisters within the Blood Harvest, available after completing or skipping the campaign
- Ascending Darkness: Upgrade a Vampiric Power to Level 2 by consuming Potent Blood, available after completing or skipping the campaign
- Sought Out: Defeat 12 Blood Seekers, available after completing or skipping the campaign
- Therapeutic: Purify 700 Seeds of Hatred in Hostile Areas
- Susurration: Open a Silent Chest, found randomly in Sanctuary, with a Whispering Key from a Purveyor of Curiosities
- The Father’s Gate: Complete the Cathedral of Light to unlock the Nightmare World Tier
- Potent Vows: Equip a piece of armour with 5 Pacts engraved on it
Complete ten of the thirteen challenges above to earn these rewards:
- Greater Favor
- Strips and Points Mount Armor
- Third Journey Cache
- Aspects:
- Luckbringer Aspect (Barbarian only)
- Aspect of Natural Balance (Druid only)
- Aspect of Shielding Storm (Necromancer only)
- Mangler’s Aspect (Rogue only)
- Aspect of Ancient Flame (Sorcerer only)
Chapter 4 challenges & rewards
- Cut The First Ear: Kill another player in a Hostile Area
- Exceeded Potential: Improve a Paragon Glyph to Tank 4 after finishing Nightmare Dungeons
- The Depths of Fear: Use 5 Nightmare Sigils to empower Dungeons and then complete them
- Pilgrim of Horror: Complete a Tier 10 or higher Nightmare Dungeon
- Restored Glory: Upgrade 2 items to four stars at the Blacksmith or Jeweler
- The Bigger They Are: Defeat a World Boss
- Sanguine Culling: Defeat the Blood Seeker Council, summoned with Blood Lures in the Blood Harvest
- A Congealed God: Defeat Lord Zir, available after completing or skipping the campaign
- Mark of Vampirism: Upgrade a Vampiric Power to Level 3 by consuming Potent Blood, available after completing or skipping the campaign
- Guilt: Defeat the Echo of Varshan in Nightmare World Tier 3, summoned beneath the Tree of Whispers with materials from Nightmare World Tier 3 Whisper Caches
- In Agreement: Equip a piece of armour with 5 identical pacts engraved on it
You need to complete nine of the eleven challenges above to earn these rewards:
- Greater Favor
- Fourth Journey Cache
- Aspects:
- Aspect of Limitless Rage (Barbarian only)
- Aspect of Metamorphic Stone (Druid only)
- Aspect of Rathma’s Chosen (Necromancer only)

- Frostblitz Aspect (Sorcerer only)
Chapter 5 challenges & rewards
- Potent Potable: Craft an Elixir of at Least Required Level 65 at the Alchemist
- Prophecy Pluripotent: Open Tortured Gifts of 6 different types during a Helltide
- Blessing Of The Strong: Equip Sacred Legendary items in every slot
- Lilth’s Undoing: Purify 5,000 Seeds of Hatred in Hostile areas
- Reaching For Greatness: Improve a Paragon Glyph to Rank 21 after finishing Nightmare Dungeons
- Sojourner Into Darkness: Complete a Tier 20 or higher Nightmare Dungeon
- Threshold Of Damnation: Complete the Fallen Temple to unlock Torment World Tier 4
- Crop Of Blood: Reach Reputation Level 10 in the Blood Harvest, available after completing or skipping the campaign
- Stormwatch: Defeat Grigore in Nightmare World Tier 3, summoned in Dry Steppes with Living Steel from Helltides
- Fully Avowed: Possess 20 total Pacts across equipped armor at once
- Triple Threat: Upgrade 2 Vampiric Powers to Level 3 by consuming Potent Blood
- Jewel Crush: Craft a Flawless Gem at the Jeweler

- Epic Favor
- Salmagundi Mount
- Fifth Journey Cache
- Aspect of Elements (Every Class)
Chapter 6 challenges & rewards
- Come At Me: Siphon from an enemy as the Hatred’s Chosen, attained by killing several Players in a row in Hostile areas
- Veteran of Ashes: Acquire 5,000 Cinders during Helltide
- Shattered Fiends: Defeat every World Boss in Torment World Tier 4
- Dark Dreamer: Complete a Tier 50 or higher Nightmare Dungeon
- Lifegiving Draught: Upgrade your potion to Major at the Alchemist
- Anointed in Blood: Reach level 90
- Shock And Awe: Defeat Grigoire in Torment World Tier 4, summoned in Dry Steppes with Living Steel from Helltides
- Harbinger Of Ice: Defeat The Beast in the Ice in Torment World Tier 4, summoned with Distilled Fear from Tier 30 or higher Nightmare Dungeons
- Remembrance: Defeat the Echo of Varshan in Torment World Tier 4, summoned beneath the Tree of Whispers with materials from Whisper Caches
- Forgiveness: Defeat Lord Zir in Torment World Tier 4, summoned in Fractured Peaks with Exquisite Blood from Torment World Bosses or Legion Events
- Heir To transcendence: Equip Ancestral Legendary items in every slot
- Quintessence: Upgrade 5 Vampiric Powers to Level 3 by consuming Potent Blood
Complete ten of the twelve challenges above to earn the following rewards:
- Epic Favor
- Body-Part Burlap Mount Trophy
- Sixth Journey Cache
- Aspect of Slaughter (Every Class)
Chapter 7 challenges & rewards
- Exterminator: Defeat Duriel in Torment World Tier 4, summoned in Kehjistan with materials from Grigoire and the Echo of Varshan
- Labor Of Love: Purify 22,222 Seeds of Hatred in Hostile areas
- Lootmaster: Open 10 Tortured Gifts during a single Helltide in Torment World Tier 4
- Titanomachy: Defeat 12 World Bosses
- Avatar Of Sanctuary’s Might: Equip at least 8 Ancestral Unique items simultaneously
- Incarnate Of Nightmares: Complete a Tier 90 or higher Nightmare Dungeon
- Glyphmaster: Improve 5 Paragon Glyphs to Rank 21 by completing Nightmare Dungeons
- A Bloodied Head, High: Reach Reputation Level 18 in the Blood Harvest, available after completing or skipping the campaign
- Blessed Mother Departed: Defeat Echo of Lilith in Torment World Tier 4, remembered in Nevesk after reaching level 90
