If you’re wondering how to complete Automated Backup missions in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, then you’re in luck. Automated Backup is the final mission of the Tier 3 category, which requires you to activate 3 Deadbolt Turrets with Ammo Mod Circuit Boards.
The objective may sound pretty straightforward, but many Modern Warfare 3 players are having a hard time completing this mission in the game. Therefore, we’ve put together this step-by-step guide to help you complete the Automated Backup challenge in MW3 Zombies.
MWZ Automated Backup mission guide
As previously noted, you need to activate three Deadbolt Turrets with Ammo Mod Circuit Boards in Urzikstan’s Threat Zones to complete Automated Backup.
Find Ammo Mod Circuit Boards

First, you need to find Circuit Boards, rare blue items that reward you with ammo mods. You can get them by completing objectives across Urzikstan. An excellent place to look for them is an Infested Stronghold, where you have to kill waves of zombies. Eventually, one of the reward coaches will drop a Circuit Board for you.
You have a slim chance of getting the circuit board with this method, so you may have to try it more than once. The circuit boards can also appear in various spots in the overworld, such as on the tops of gas station counters or inside the loot boxes. But the most reliable way to get the Ammo Mod Circuit Board is to visit the Strongholds.
Activate Deadbolt Turrets

The final step is to activate three Deadbolt Turrets to get ammo mods indicated by turret icons on the map. Simply head to the marked locations and use the Ammo Mod Circuit Board to activate the turret. Make sure you use different turrets, or it may not count. If you encounter any issues, get more boards and try again.
After that, the Automated Backup mission will be marked as completed, and you’ll receive the following rewards.

The Automated Backup mission rewards you the Death Perception Acquisition and 1,500 XP. Drinking the Death Perception Soda will grant you the ability to see through walls as enemies, chests, resources, and item drops will be highlighted with a coloured outline. You can also acquire this perk by farming crafting schematics in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies mode.
