Julia Haart is an American designer and the wife of the founder of Fastweb, an Italian telecommunications company, Billionaire Silvio Scaglia. She was formerly the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Elite Model Management. Haart also produces a miniseries on Netflix, “My Unorthodox Life” which is her way of telling the world how she dealt with life in the Haredi community before freeing herself from those shackles.

Julia ‘Talia Leibov’ Haart was born in Moscow, Russia. Just three years after her birth, her parents moved from Russia then known as Soviet Union to Austin, Texas in the United States. She was enrolled into a private school and was the only student with Jewish background. During her fourth grade, they relocated to Monsey,New York which was predominantly a Haredi community. Her parents viewed Monsey as more appealing and there she grew a lot more religious. Julia taught herself how to sew and read fashion magazines at age 16 in the house. At 18, Julia decided to attract a Hebrew man thereby adopting the name Talia. A year later she got wedded to his first husband.
Prior to her becoming the owner of a shoe company, she secretly sold life insurances. During the 1990s and 2000s, Julia was working as a judaic teacher at yeshiva, Atlanta. She was said to be loved by her pupils. In 2013, she finally left the Haredi community and established a shoe company. Her goal was to make fashionable but comfortable high heels. She got a partnerships from a ski boot engineer and a German company that created a gel used by NASA and that they used in making the high heel shoes which were comfortable.
In 2016, Haart collaborated with La Perla for their Spring and Fall 2016 accessory collections. The same year, she was named as the creative director for the brand by Silvio Scaglia, at that time owner and president of the brand. Following her appointment as Creative Director of La Perla, Haart launched a new approach to ready-to-wear for the company. At La Perla, Haart created the first stretch Leavers lace, and launched a collection of ready-to-wear lingerie with built-in support. For her Fall/Winter 2017 fashion show, Haart constructed a “La Perla Manor” runway show, in which Naomi Campbell, Lindsey Wixson, Sasha Pivovarova and Kendall Jenner walked.
Haart is known for her 2017 Met Gala dress designed for Kendall Jenner. The gown consisted of 85,000 crystals affixed to a single string. She became Chief Executive Officer and Chief Creative Office in March 2019. Three years after in 2022, she was dismissed by her husband Silvio Scaglia, her now ex husband on grounds of embezzlements of company funds. Haart is estimated to be worth in the region on US$600 million.
