After six years with the Pistons, Hill joined the Orlando Magic as an unrestricted free agent, He went on to play seven seasons, during which time his career was hampered by ankle injuries, playing just four games in his first season with the Magic.

Hill’s second season saw him play 14 games before making 29 appearances in his third season with the Magic. He sat out the whole of his fourth season and made a comeback after that season. During the 2002-03 season, he averaged 18.0 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per 36 minutes.
