Derek Fisher (born August 9, 1974) is a former professional basketball player and coach in the United States. Fisher was a professional basketball player for 18 years, spending the majority of his career with the Los Angeles Lakers, with whom he won five NBA titles.
He also spent time with the Golden State Warriors, the Utah Jazz, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Dallas Mavericks. He has also served as the National Basketball Players Association’s (NBPA) president.

Fisher donated $700,000 to UALR in 2005 for the development of the Jack Stephens Centre auxiliary gym, which is now named in his honor, as well as the Fisher Fellows Life Skills program, a mentoring series for UALR student-athletes.
