Who is Brandon Sanderson?
Brandon Winn Sanderson was born on December 19, 1975 in Lincoln, Nebraska, United States. He is an American citizenship and currently 47 years of age. He has a three siblings including Jordan Sanderson.
During Sanderson’s teenage years, he developed passion for reading high fantasy novels and made numerous attempts to start writing his own stories that early in his life.
Upon graduating from high school, he went to Brigham Young University (BYU), majoring in Biochemistry. Between 1995 to 1997, he took a two-year of absence to volunteer as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, assigned to serve in South Korea.
After completed his service, he returned to BYU but didn’t continue with his Biochemistry, instead he changed to English Literature. He took up a job as a night auditor at a local hotel in Provo, Utah which gave him room to write while he was working.
Sanderson is best known for the Cosmere fictional universe, in which his most prolific works including the “Mistborn” and “The Stormlight Archive” are set. Other notable works he has written outside of Cosmere are “The Reckoners, the Sjyward series and the Alcatraz series.
Aside writing his works, Sanderson is also credited with finishing Robert Jordan’s high fantasy series “The Wheel of Time.” He has also created several graphic novel fantasy series, including “White Sand” and “Dark One.”
