Sons of the Forest seasons are pretty important, as things significantly change as the year goes by in the game. If you want to know how long each season is in-game, I’ve got you covered.
For your best chance at survival, you’ll need to be prepared for what the change of season will bring. Winter is particularly dangerous, so it’ll pay to know exactly how long you need to last until Spring comes around.
Sons of the Forest season length
The seasons in Sons of the Forest last for five in-game days. That means it takes 20 days for the full cycle to go by.
The game begins in summer, and then moves into fall, winter, spring and back to summer again.
Each one lasts for five days by default, but it’s possible to customise how long the seasons are, including a short setting (three days) and a realistic setting that makes each season last for 90 days. This can be done either in the settings menu or by using debug commands.
What changes in each season?

In spring and summer, the leaves are green and you’ll see plenty of animals. In fall, the leaves will turn brown but there won’t be much else that changes.
In winter, things are quite drastically different. The world will be covered in snow, water will freeze and the air will be colder. You’ll also need to be prepared for any enemies in the world, as more mutants will show up in winter.
You’ll have to wear a coat to offset the effects of the cold weather in winter. You’ll also be able to walk across the ice in certain areas.
