Hank Green’s Brother: Meet John Green: Hank Green, officially known as William Henry Green II was born on May 5, 1980, in Birmingham, Alabama.

He attended Winter Park High School. He bagged a B.S. in biochemistry from Eckerd College and also an M.S. in environmental studies from the University of Montana.

At the time of this writing (Saturday, May 20, 2023), Green is a renowned vlogger, science communicator, entrepreneur, author, internet producer, and musician.

Green is famous for running the YouTube channel, Vlog Brothers and also for creating and hosting the educational YouTube channels, Crash Course and SciShow.

He also co-founded the VidCon convention, which has attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors since launching in 2010.

In May 2023, Hank Green hit major headlines after he revealed on his YouTube channel, vlogbrothers that he has been diagnosed with cancer.

On Friday, May 19, 2023, he posted a video telling viewers he had been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a type of cancer that attacks the lymphatic system.

In the 13 minutes, 48 seconds video, Green disclosed he would soon be beginning treatment for the disease, adding it is one of “the most treatable” cancers.

He said: “It seems likely that we caught mine early. I’m still waiting on a scan to sort of confirm that.”

“The goal is cure,” he added, saying the “procedure to get there is fairly well known if unpleasant,” in a reference to chemotherapy.

He went on to lay out how the diagnosis would impact his YouTube career and the frequency with which he publishes videos.

Vlog Brothers have 3.59m subscribers as of May 20, 2023, with many of whom have left words of support in the comments section.

In less than 24 hours, the video of Green revealing his cancer diagnosis has amassed over 4 million views.

As stated earlier, his other popular channels include; Crash Course and SciShow, which are both educational.

A few hours after he posted the video, it was announced he would not be attending the VidCon streaming convention scheduled for June in Anaheim, California.

Green founded the convention along with his elder brother, John Green in 2010, but it is now owned by Paramount Global.

Hank Green is not the only child of his parents; Sydney Green and Mike Green. He has an elder brother named John Green who was born on August 24, 1977, in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States.

John is also an author, YouTuber, podcaster, and philanthropist. The two are known for producing the YouTube channels Vlogbrothers, Crash Course, and SciShow.

They also created VidCon, the world’s largest conference about online videos. The convention was created in 2010, but it is now owned by Paramount Global.

As an author, John’s books have more than 50 million copies in print worldwide. He has been married to Sarah Urist Green since 2006 and they share two children; a daughter, Alice Green, and a son, Henry Green.
