On June 29, 2001, Gunnar Henderson whose full name is Gunnar Randal Henderson was born in Montgomery, Alabama in the United States of America to his parents who served in the military. His father served in the Navy and his mother worked as a civil engineer. He grew up alongside his two siblings surrounded by technology and engineering, which inspired him to pursue a baseball career.His passion for baseball started at a very young age. When he was 7 years old he began playing select baseball with some of the best teams from the state of Alabama. Throughout his youth career, he excelled and established himself as one of the top prospects in his class.
At 15 years old he landed on numerous top prospect lists across Major League Baseball scouts and was regarded as one of the top talents for that year’s MLB draft class.
During the 2020 MLB draft, he was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the second round.
