Ghost-type Pokemon are some of the creepiest creatures you can come across, but knowing their weaknesses and resistances can make them seem a lot less scary.
There are plenty of ghoulish Ghost-types in the Pokedex, and they’re not the easiest to take down in battle, as their weaknesses and resistances aren’t immediately obvious like Grass-types or Fire-types are.

Ghost-type Pokemon are typically weak to Dark-type and Ghost-type attacks.
Because Ghost-types are vulnerable to other Ghost-types, it’s definitely a good idea to focus on Dark-type Pokemon when heading into battle as you’ll have an immediate advantage.
Remember that dual-type Pokemon might not have these same weaknesses. For example, the Fighting/Ghost-type Marshadow is weak to Fairy, Flying, Ghost, and Psychic-type attacks.
Resistances for Ghost-type Pokemon
Ghost-type Pokemon are usually resistant to Bug-type and Poison-type attacks.

Some of the best counters you can use when battling Ghost-type opponents are Tyranitar, Yveltal, Houndoom, Hydreigon, and Weavile. Remember, they’ll need to have Dark-type movesets to really be effective.
The best counter to use will always depend on the specific opponent you’re up against, so it’s a good idea to look them up specifically. Having said that, focusing on Dark-type Pokemon will usually be a safe option.
