There is a frankly massive download size for installing Forza Motorsport on PC and Xbox Series X|S for those who want to play the game.
It’s no surprise, really, what with Forza Motorsport hosting both an impressive car and track list. Personally, I can’t wait to see just how gorgeous these new visuals look, too, although it seems there will be a price to pay with a mammoth download size that might even have me needing to uninstall Forza Horizon 5. I never thought I’d see the day.
So, if you’re excited to dive into Forza Motorsport yourself, here’s everything you need to know about its download size on PC and Xbox, as well as how to preload the game.

To play Forza Motorsport, you’ll need the following sizes for each platform:
- Xbox Series X: 133 GB
- Xbox Series S: 100 GB
- Windows 10 and 11 PC (Microsoft Store): 119 GB
- Steam: 118GB (with download size of 108GB)
It certainly seems like games are getting bigger these days, especially for those who have a launch-day Xbox Series S with a measly 364GB of storage.
If you have storage issues, you could possibly stream the game through the cloud as well. It won’t be as picture-perfect, as the downloaded game would be, which is worth bearing in mind.
How to preload Forza Motorsport on PC and Xbox

Preloading Forza Motorsport is fairly easy on PC and Xbox systems. First, you’ll need to purchase it from the Xbox store or be an Xbox Game Pass subscriber. Go to the game’s listing and then select “Pre-Install.” It will download a small file to your console or PC.
The process is the same on Steam, with you needing to open the game in your library and look for the ‘Pre-Install’ option. However, the Steam preload has not gone live just yet. We will update this guide when the PC preload for Forza Motorsport becomes available.
Once the development of this title rolls out of the driveway and onto Xbox’s servers, the game will instantly download to your console. Those who buy the Premium Edition will be able to play Forza Motorsport five days early, which starts on October 5.
In addition to early access, you’ll also get the Car Pass, the Race Day Car Pack, VIP Membership, and the Welcome Pack through the Premium Edition.
