De’Andre Hunter is an American professional basketball player for the Atlanta Hawks of the Nati onal Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Virginia Cavaliers before being selected by the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round, 4th overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft. He was traded immediately to the New Orleans Pelicans and again to the Atlanta Hawks where he made his NBA debut on October 24, 2019. Hunter won the NCAA Championship and was named the NABC Defensive Player of the Year for 2019.
