Everything we know about Monster Hunter Wilds

It finally happened! We have the first trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds, which was officially revealed at The Game Awards 2023. Here’s everything we know about the game right now.

Monster Hunter Wilds is the latest in the popular franchise from Capcom. I’m a big fan of the newest Monster Hunter games, so this looks right up my street. Let’s dive into everything we’ve learned from the trailer.

Monster Hunter Wilds platforms

Monster Hunter Wilds is the next big Monster Hunter game, following in the footsteps of World and Rise. The game will be playable on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam.

This is a big change from Monster Hunter Rise, which initially launched on Nintendo Switch before making its way to the other platforms later.

Wilds is currently scheduled to launch at some point in 2025, but we don’t have a specific date right now.

We won’t be getting any more info about the game until summer 2024, according to Capcom, so you’ll have to be patient if you want to see any more footage from the game.

Monster Hunter Wilds gameplay details

The trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds shows a large open space filled with creatures. It looks like a much bigger area, with more dense wildlife than we’re used to.

We’ll also be able to ride a new creature across the map – some kind of bird thing that you can glide around on. It looks to be an evolution of Monster Hunter Rise’s riding mechanics that made traversing the map much easier.

The trailer also showed some dramatic weather conditions, with a sandstorm rolling in and covering the entire area. It’s possible the weather could dictate how your hunts will go, or perhaps certain monsters might only show up in certain weather conditions. We don’t know much for now, so we can only speculate.

That’s all the trailer really shows, but it’s safe to say it’s already looking like a solid addition to the series and we can’t wait to see more.
