American football coach, Eric Bieniemy was born on August 15th, 1969 in New Orleans, Louisiana in the United States of America.

At Bishop Amat Memorial High School in La Puente, California, he earned letters in both football and track and field. As a senior, when he carried for 2,002 yards and 30 touchdowns, he was named to the second team of All-America.

Bieniemy played football for the Colorado Buffaloes while attending the University of Colorado Boulder. He was named to the Big Eight first team twice, in 1988 and 1990, and as a senior, he was named the conference’s offensive player of the year.

He was named All-America during their 1990 national championship season and finished third in the Heisman Trophy vote with 1,628 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Eric Bieniemy career

Bieniemy played for the San Diego Chargers, Cincinnati Bengals, and Philadelphia Eagles between 1991 and 1999.

He concluded his career with 1,589 rushing yards, 1,223 receiving yards, 276 punt return yards, 1,621 kickoff return yards, and 12 touchdowns (11 rushing and one kickoff return).

After returning to Colorado in 2001 to complete his education, Bieniemy coached UCLA’s running backs from 2003 to 2005 while also serving as the team’s recruiting coordinator in 2005. From 2001 to 2002, Bieniemy served as the running backs coach for the Buffaloes.

Andy Reid, the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, hired Bieniemy as the running backs coach in 2013. In order to replace Matt Nagy, who had been hired as the head coach of the Chicago Bears, Reid promoted Bieniemy to offensive coordinator in 2018.

The Chiefs led the NFL in points scored and yards per game in Bieniemy’s first season as the team’s offensive coordinator. With 565 points, the Chiefs finished the season with the third-most points in an NFL season.
