Snake venom addiction is making headlines after popular YouTuber Elvish Yadav was arrested for allegedly organizing rave parties and providing the drug.
Elvish has been remanded to 14-day judicial custody on Sunday. He faces a case under the Wildlife Act in Noida and after initially denying any wrongdoing, admitted to the charges, police said.
A snake smuggling racket was caught in November last year after police raided a banquet hall in Noida Sector 51. Five people, including four snake charmers, were arrested for allegedly supplying snake venom.
A forensic investigation revealed the use of the venom of cobra and krait species in drugs supplied at the party. The arrested people named Yadav, 26, as their “supplier” leading to his arrest.
