In 2017, she began the season with a wildcard into the Sydney International qualifying where she defeated Kateryna Kozlova, ranked 101 in the world

Perez lost to Naomi Broady in the second round and at the Australian Open qualifying, she defeated Tadeja Majeric and then lost to Ana Bogdan.

She began the 2018 season, after being given a wildcard into the Sydney International where she beat Kristina Mladenovic, in the first round.

In May 2020, she reached the third and final round of the French Open qualifying and in June, she qualified for Wimbledon but lost to Clara Burel.

At the 2020 Olympic Games in July, she partnered with Samantha Stosur in the women’s doubles where they reached the quarterfinals

In the 2022 season, Perez lost in the first round of the Australian Open qualifying. However, she reached the quarterfinals at Wimbledon.

At the 2023 French Open, Perez reached the quarterfinals for the first time. Her career-high rankings in singles and doubles are world No. 162 and No. 9, achieved in August 2019 and June 2023, respectively.
