PvPvE games have become massive over the past few years thanks to extraction shooters, and Dungeonborne is an upcoming game that takes this premise into the fantasy realm for melee combat, magic spells, and dungeon crawling.
While information is still fresh on the game, we’ve collated everything we know so far. So read on for a primer on Dungenborne.
When does the Dungeonborne demo release?
A demo, or open playtest, for Dungenborne is set to begin on February 2, giving players a chance to try out the game early.
There’s still no release date or window, so we don’t know when to expect the full release or even a potential early access launch yet.
Dungeonborne trailers
The only trailer for the game currently is the announcement trailer, which debuted on January 26, 2024.
The trailer begins as a cinematic, showing some outdoor medieval environments before focusing in on a large door. In the next scene, the door opens, and we see a knight and priest walk forward, discovering a body on the floor.
It then cuts to some gameplay scenes, showing off combat against different enemies with spells, crossbows, swords, daggers, and more.

Dungeonborne is described as an “immersive first-person PvPvE dungeon crawler” by the developers.
You can choose to go in solo or join up with other players to explore dungeons and castles while hunting for treasure, battling monsters, and even fending off other players looking to take your loot.
There are seven classes confirmed currently: Fighter, Priest, Rogue, Swordmaster, Pyromancer, Cryomancer, and Death Knight, all of which come with unique capabilities and roles.

There’s also tonnes of loot to gather. Equipment you find on runs can have random affixes or corruptions that affect its stats, and you can enhance your gear further with a gem socketing mechanic to design a build that suits you.
