Drake Callender children-American professional footballer, Drake Steven Callender was born on October 7, 1997.
Callender was born in Sacramento, California in the United States of America. In his youth, he played soccer for Cap FC United and Placer United. From 2013 to 2016, he was a member of the San Jose Earthquakes Academy.
For the California Golden Bears, Callendar started playing collegiate soccer in 2016. Callender made 54 appearances over the course of four seasons, recording 16 shutouts.
He was selected to both the All-Pac-12 First Team and the United Soccer Coaches NCAA All-Far West Region First Team for the 2017 campaign.
He received recognition for the 2018 year from the MAC Hermann Trophy Preseason Watch List, United Soccer Coaches NCAA All-Far West Region Third Team, and All-Pac-12 Second Team.
Callender played for the San Francisco Glens of USL League Two during his time in college, although he did not play for the squad in 2019.
Drake Callender career
On November 12, 2019, Inter Miami acquired Callender’s homegrown player rights from San Jose Earthquakes in return for the 27th overall choice in the 2020 Major League Soccer Draft and, if Callender achieves specific performance-based metrics, up to $150,000 in General Allocation Money.
Prior to the club’s first Major League Soccer season in 2020, he was added to the roster. On May 7, 2021, Callender made his professional debut, starting for Inter Miami affiliate Fort Lauderdale CF in a USL League One matchup against Union Omaha.
Callendar was named to the league’s Team of the Matchday for week one after making six saves in Inter Miami’s 2023 season-opening victory over CF Montréal.
He scored a penalty and saved two to help his team, Inter Miami, win the first League Cup on August 19, 2023.
As a result, Drake Callender received Man of the Match and the 2023 Leagues Cup award for best goalie.
