David Bautista Jr. (born January 18, 1969) is a retired professional wrestler and actor from the United States. Between 2002 and 2019, he worked for WWE on multiple occasions. In his acting career, he is most known for playing Drax the Destroyer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe from Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) until Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023), when he announced his departure from the franchise.

David Bautista has appeared in various television shows as himself and in character as Batista. He appeared as Aldar, an extraterrestrial alien who escaped from the Phantom Zone and sucks people’s bones for nutrition, in the eighth episode of season 6 of the American drama action/adventure television series Smallville.

In June 2009, he appeared as himself in an episode of the Australian soap series Neighbours. He made a brief appearance in Relative Strangers and featured in an episode of Chuck in 2010. On the 2010 action flick Wrong Side of Town, he co-starred with Rob Van Dam, Marrese Crump, and Ja Rule. At the 2016 Comic-Con, Bautista attended the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 panel.

In the Universal Studios picture The Man with the Iron Fists, Bautista played the malevolent Brass Body. He starred as Drax the Destroyer in the critically and commercially successful 2014 Marvel Studios blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy.

He starred as Mr. Hinx in the James Bond film Spectre (2015), and as the villain Tong Po in the Kickboxer remake, opposite Georges St-Pierre. He played a noteworthy supporting role towards the beginning of the epic science fiction thriller Blade Runner 2049, which was released to critical acclaim in 2017. He played Drax again in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (May 2017), Avengers: Infinity War (April 2018), and Avengers: Endgame (April 2019).
