White played college at UCCS Mountain Lions from 2012 to 2015, and later at Division I Colorado Buffaloes from 2016 to 2017 with his NBA Draft.
He was selected as the 29th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft during Round 1 by San Antonio Spurs.
Derrick stayed at San Antonio Spurs for five years. He was first added to their 2017 NBA Summer League roster, and he eventually evolved to be a prominent member of the San Antonio Spurs team.
