Born on June 26, 1974, he developed a love for baseball at a younger age and was consistent throughout his career rising through the ranks to become one of the most sought-after professional baseball players.

As a player, Jeter spent his entire 20-year Major League Baseball career with the New York Yankees. He was drafted by the Yankees out of high school in 1992 making his debut in the major leagues at age 20 in 1995.

Jeter was the 28th player to reach 3,000 hits and finished his career ranked sixth in MLB history in career hits and first among shortstops. In 2017, the Yankees retired his uniform number 2.

They (Sanderson and Dorothy) met while serving in the United States Army in Germany. His father played baseball at Fisk University in Tennessee as a shortstop.

When Jeter was a child, his parents made him sign a contract every year that defined acceptable and unacceptable forms of behavior.
