David Krumholtz was born on 15th May 1978 in Queen, New York.

David and his sister, Dawn, were brought to the Queens neighbourhood of New York City. David later disclosed that his Jewish upbringing was marked by extreme poverty.

After a while, he studied at New York University, but he dropped out.

In 1993, David made his television series first appearance as Scotty Fisher in the crime mystery “Law & Order” episode “Sweeps.” In 1994, he played David Richardson in all 13 episodes of the Marc Lawrence comedy “Monty,” which followed the life of talk-show host, Monty Richardson.
