On Thursday, February 28, 2024, Roh’s wife, Chelsea, announced that the football player had died from colon cancer on February 26. Chelsea made this known in a post on X formerly Twitter, Chelsea wrote;

“This is @mrschelsearoh, Craig’s wife. I wanted to let all of his followers know that after an 18-month battle with Stage IV colon cancer, God brought Craig home on Monday, February 26th,” she wrote. “Craig was not very public with his battle, as he truly just wanted to focus on bringing the best content and building the best products he could. Born in 1991, Roh developed a passion for playing American football at a younger age and was consistent throughout his career, becoming one of the most sought-after American football players.

Roh, originally a highly touted four-star recruit from Scottsdale, Arizona, already had ties to the state of Michigan with his father playing basketball at Grand Valley State.

He played for the Wolverines from 2009 to 2012 and started a program-record 51 consecutive games -20 at outside linebacker, 29 at defensive end, and two at defensive tackle.

Roh earned freshman All-American, All-Big Ten, and Top Michigan Defensive Lineman and won a BCS Sugar Bowl. After going undrafted during the 2013 NFL draft, Roh was signed as a free agent by the Carolina Panthers.

He was released on August 24, 2014. After playing a season in the NFL he went to the Canadian Football League where he played for the BC Lions and then went to Winnipeg where he won a CFL Grey Cup championship.

Roh played for the BC Lions during the 2015, 2016, and 2017 seasons. In those 3 years, Roh played in 45 games for BC and recorded 64 tackles to go along with 6 sacks in 2015, 7 sacks and one forced fumble in 2016, and 7 more sacks in 2017.

In the 2018 season, Roh was a member of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers where he set career highs in games played with 17, tackles with 30, and sacks with 8. Roh also put up 4 tackles and a sack in the playoffs.

In 2019, Roh finished the regular season injured, with a career-low 12 games played; he still put up 16 tackles, 6 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles.
