Concord cross-progression, cross-platform and PSN requirement explained

Players looking to jump into Firewalk’s Concord will be excited to learn that the game is cross-platform and has cross-progression across both PC and PS5.

However, there are a few caveats that you need to know about if you’re considering playing this multiplayer shooter across two different platforms.

Cross-progression explained

Concord will have cross-progression across PS5 and PC. This means that any in-game progression you make, like items, levels, and trophies you unlock while playing carry across if you decide you want to play on another platform.

All you need to do is make sure that you’re logged into the same PSN account on both your PlayStation 5 and your PC. Otherwise, you’ll have two different accounts that you’re earning XP for.

The other caveat is that you’ll need to purchase the game on both platforms separately if you want to play on both of them. So, if you own Concord on Steam, you don’t automatically have it for PS5, and vice versa. You’ll need to own the game on both platforms to take advantage of cross-progression.

Cross-platform explained

Concord will also feature cross-platform functionality, which is an exciting prospect for those of us with friends who play on different consoles.

What this means is that you’re able to party up with and play against any other Concord player, regardless of which platform they’re playing on. If you’re a PC player who wants to queue up with a friend on PS5, that’s entirely possible. Equally, you’ll be matched against players on different platforms to ensure lobbies stay populated.

PSN requirement explained

Sony requires that players log in with a valid PlayStation Network account for its PC titles, and Concord is no different. You’ll need to log in to a valid PSN account on both PC and PS5 if you want to play Concord.

This requirement is because the game is entirely multiplayer and because the online features are operated through PlayStation Network, you need to be logged in to take advantage of them.

The only stipulation here is that while you must be subscribed to PlayStation Plus Essential on PlayStation 5, you don’t need to have any online subscription on PC. A PlayStation Network account is free to make, so all you’re giving away is your data.
