The version number in Baldur’s Gate 3 has been a point of contention since its release, with many players wondering if you can hide or remove the watermark at all when playing.

While no doubt it is helpful to developers wanting to identify the exact build that players are on when dealing with bugs or issues in Baldur’s Gate 3, it can be quite frustrating to any players who prefer a cleaner set-up in the game.

Thankfully we’ve got everything you need to know about hiding the version number in Baldur’s Gate 3 below, so make sure to continue reading to find out more about the watermark.

The version number watermark in Baldur’s Gate 3 is the string of numbers permanently located in the top right of your screen underneath the map when you’re exploring or engaged in combat.

This watermark was also visible during early access, but it has unfortunately persisted into the full release of the game, leaving many players wondering whether it can be turned off at all.

While there is currently no way to remove the version number underneath your map in Baldur’s Gate 3, the watermark that appeared during the game’s cutscenes has been completely disabled and hidden, to the delight of most players.

This is fantastic news for anyone who loved taking screenshots, as it got in the way a fair amount when engaging in all of the game’s fantastic cinematic moments. While you are unable to disable the small version number underneath the map, it is far less obtrusive and shouldn’t ruin any screenshots any more than the standard UI elements would.

While there is no way to alter any of the UI elements in Baldur’s Gate 3, you can completely disable the UI by pressing F10 on your keyboard. This will remove all elements that are not a part of the game world on the screen, including the map, your skill hotbar, your party and their health, and even various dialogue choices.

This is great if you want to take a screenshot or just enjoy the beauty of the Forgotten Realms, but it is nearly impossible to play with on a permanent basis. Hopefully, Larian Studios will add an option to alter the HUD and UI in the future, but as of right now, you will have to stick with what you’ve got.

So, that’s everything we currently know about removing the version number in Baldur’s Gate 3, but we will let you know if anything changes and a toggle is eventually added.
