Bung Moktar Radin children-Malaysian politician and lawyer, Bung Moktar bin Radin was born on September 14, 1959, in Sabah, Malaysia.
From September 2020 until January 2023, he held the positions of Deputy Chief Minister I, State Minister of Works for Sabah, Chairman of FELCRA Berhad from 2013 to 2018, and Deputy Chairman of the Barisan Nasional Backbenchers Club (BNBBC) from 2008 to 2018.
He belongs to the coalition’s Barisan Nasional (BN) component party, the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO).
Since December 2018, he has also held the position of State Chairman for BN and UMNO in Sabah. He was once a part of USNO or the United Sabah National Organization.
Bung Moktar Radin career
Prior to entering politics, he worked as an administrative and diplomatic officer for the Sandakan Special Affairs Department (JASA) branch office (1987–1990), an officer for the Sandakan branch of the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) (1990–1992), and the political secretary to the Sabah Minister of Finance (1994–1999).
Bung Mokhtar lost the first time when he ran for the Barisan Nasional (BN) party in the 1994 Sabah state election for the Kuamut seat, which was at the time a bastion for the opposition.
After beating Ali Latip Taha of the Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) for the Kinabatangan parliamentary seat, he first won the 1999 general election.
In the general elections of 2004, 2008, 2013, and 2018, he was successful in keeping his seat. He has run as a USNO or UMNO of BN candidate for Kinabatangan parliamentary seats five times since entering politics in 1978.
Bung pled guilty to polygamy on April 20, 2010, admitting that he had taken a second wife without a marriage registrar’s permission. He was given a one-month prison term, although he was eventually freed on bail.
He once more requested Shahrizat Abdul Jalil to quit on December 3, 2011, at the UMNO General Assembly, due to a scandal involving the National Feedlot Centre (NFC) in Gemas and an RM250 million easy loan tied to her husband and her children.
Although the NFC incurred losses, it was discovered that they were able to purchase two opulent condos in Bangsar, a Mercedes automobile for RM534,622, and two plots of land in Putrajaya totaling RM3,363,507 in addition to other assets.

A lack of trust in the leadership of Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor, according to Bung Moktar Radin, the head of UMNO Sabah, a BN component party, led to a political crisis in Sabah in 2023. Radin is a Kinabatangan MP and Lamag Assemblyman.
