Barbara Walters Parents: Meet Lou And Dena: Barbara Walters, officially known as Barbara Jill Walters was born on September 25, 1929, in Boston, Massachusetts, United States.

She was an American broadcast journalist and television personality who started her career in the 1960s as a writer and segment producer of women’s interest stories on ‘The Today Show.’

Viewers’ interest in her show resulted in Walters receiving more airtime, and in 1974, she became co-host of the program, the first woman to hold such a title on an American news program.

Barbara Walters was known for her interviewing ability and popularity with viewers. She interviewed every sitting U.S. president and first lady from Richard Nixon to Barack Obama. She also interviewed both Donald Trump and Joe Biden when they were not yet presidents.

Barbara Walters was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 1989, and in 2007 received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She also received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in 2000.

Barbara Walters worked as a journalist from 1951 until her retirement in 2015. She died at her home in Manhattan on Friday, December 30, 2022, at the age of 93.

Her father was a British-born American booking agent, theatrical producer, and the founder of the famed Latin Quarter nightclub in New York. He was born in 1896 in London, United Kingdom and he died on August 15, 1977. Her mother was born in 1897 and died in 1988.
