Baltimore Shooting: 2 People Confirmed Dead As Dozens Get Injured – Tragedy struck the Brooklyn neighborhood in South Baltimore on Sunday morning as a block party turned into a scene of horror.
A mass shooting unfolded, claiming the lives of two individuals and leaving dozens injured, according to the police.
The incident took place in the 800 block of Gretna Court, where chaos erupted shortly after midnight. Gunshots rang out, sending panic and confusion through the gathering. Authorities received multiple reports of the shooting at around 12:30 a.m., prompting a swift response.
Sadly, an 18-year-old woman lost her life at the scene, succumbing to her injuries. Another victim, a 20-year-old, passed away after being rushed to a local hospital. The devastating toll continued to rise as police disclosed that three individuals remain in critical condition, battling for their lives.
In the aftermath of the tragedy, emergency services mobilized to provide crucial medical assistance. The University of Maryland Medical System played a pivotal role, with 12 victims being transported to the renowned Shock Trauma Center for urgent treatment. Additionally, four patients, including children, were admitted to the hospital’s pediatric emergency department, where medical professionals are working tirelessly to save lives.
Baltimore Mayor, Brandon Scott who was at the scene of the incident shared his thoughts and in his submission, he said;
“We will not stop until we find those cowards who decided to just shoot dozens of people, causing two people to lose their lives. And we’re going to be here until we find them, until we hold them accountable until they are held accountable for the actions they took because we cannot rest until they do so. Again our thoughts and prayers are with the entire community and city.”
As the community grapples with the shock and grief caused by this senseless act of violence, authorities are diligently investigating the incident to apprehend those responsible and bring them to justice.
