After completing his secondary education in 1980, he enrolled at the University of Pisa to study law. He performed evenings in piano bars to get money, and it was there that he met Enrica, his future wife, in 1987. He finished law school and worked as a court-appointed attorney for a year.

One of People magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People in 1998 was Andrea Bocelli. He collaborated with Celine Dion on the song “The Prayer,” which won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song, for the animated feature Quest for Camelot.
