André Leon Talley of blessed memory was a fashion blogger, stylist, creative director, and editor-at-large of Vogue magazine. The fashion mogul worked with other fashion magazines like Numéro, W, Women’s Wear Daily, and Ebony.

He was as well on the judging panel of America’s Next Top Model from 2010 to 2011. He was the stylist of the former president of the United States of America Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama when they were in power at the time.

He was Melanin Trump’s stylist during her wedding in 2005 with ex-president Donald Trump. André Léon Talley was indeed a fashion magnate.

On the 16th of October 1948, the famous fashion expert, André Leon Talley was born in Washington, District of Columbia in the United States of America to his parents Alma Ruth Davis and William Carroll.

He was however raised by his grandmother Binnie Francis Davis, a Duke University in Durham, North Carolina cleaner. He developed a passion for fashion from his grandmother and on discovering the Vogue magazine in a local library at the early age of nine. He had his education at Hillside High School and proceeded to North Carolina Central University to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in French literature in 1970.

He earned his Master of Arts degree in the French language at Brown University in 1972 through a scholarship. He worked at Vogue as a fashion news director from 1983 to 1987. He became the first African-American male creative director of Vogue from 1988 to 1995. He became the editor-at-large of Vogue from 1998 to 2013.

He was the author of the books, The Chiffon Trenches, his autobiography A.L.T, and ALT 365+, an art monograph. He was on the judging panel of America’s Next Top Model from 2010 to 2011. He was an international editor of Russia’s fashion magazine Numéro from 2013 to 2014. The American fashion expert was openly gay and never got married throughout his lifetime.

He did well and lost 55 lbs, but wasn’t committed to maintaining his weight due to his food addiction. He became huge again.
