Ali Bongo Children: Meet His 4 Children: Ali Bongo, officially known as Ali Bongo Ondimba is a Gabonese politician.

As a member of the Gabonese Democratic Party, Ali Bongo is the third and current president of Gabon since October 2009.

His father, Omar Bongo was president of Gabon from 1967 until his death in 2009. During his father’s presidency, he was Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1989 to 1991.

From 1991 to 1999, Ali Bongo represented Bongoville as a Deputy in the National Assembly, and from 1999 to 2009, he became the Minister of Defense.

Following his father’s demise in 2009, Ali Bongo was elected president of Gabaon under the ticket of the Gabonese Democratic Party

He was re-elected in 2016, in a general election marred by numerous irregularities, arrests, human rights violations, as well as post-election protests and violence.

On Saturday, 26 August 2023 Gabon held their general election as Ali Bongo sought re-election for a 3rd term in office on the ticket of the Gabonese Democratic Party

On the day of the election, Saturday, 26 August 2023, Foreign media outlets and independent observers were reportedly prevented from entering Gabon.

In the evening after voting took place, the Gabonese government reportedly restricted internet access and media broadcasts from French news outlets, and a curfew was imposed.

On Wednesday, 30th August, around midnight, the official election results were announced on state television without prior notice declaring Ali Bongo of the Gabonese Democratic Party as winner.

According to the Gabonese electoral commission, Ali Bongo won the polls with 64.27% eventually making him the president-elect of Gabon awaiting a swearing-in ceremony.

A few minutes after the declaration by the Gabonese electoral commission, the military ousted Ali Bongo from the presidency in a coup d’état and established a junta.

The military announced the annulment of the August 2023 general election, the dissolution of state institutions, and the closure of the country’s borders

The junta later announced the arrest and home detention of Ali Bongo and his eldest son and adviser, Noureddin Bongo Valentin, adding that the two were with family and doctors.

The Junta also arrested several of Ali Bongo’s presidential aides adding that they were facing charges that included treason, embezzlement, corruption, falsifying the president’s signature and drug-trafficking

In an update of the event, a distressed Ali Bongo has released a video on social media pleading for help and calling on his friends and supporters both to “raise their voice” and “make noise” in response to the coup.

Ali Bongo is blessed with four children; a daughter named, Malika Bongo Ondimba, and three sons, Noureddin Bongo Valentin, Jalil Bongo Ondimba, and Bilal Bongo whom he and Sylvia adopted in 2002.

Ali Bongo’s children live away from the spotlight hence their date of birth, age, educational background, and occupation are unknown at this time of writing.
