You may have found the shotgun pretty early on in Alan Wake 2, but you’re going to need the correct code combination if you’re going to open the padlock that’s keeping it inside its cabinet – which is exactly what we’re here to bring you.

Where to find the Shotgun in Alan Wake 2

The shotgun in Alan Wake 2 is found relatively early on in the third chapter of the game: The Heart. In this chapter, you’ll be sent back to Cauldron Lake in search of a human heart (lovely). Along the way, you will come across the shotgun on the wall of the General Store’s back room (you’ll just have to take down a pesky cultist first).
However, if you’re going to get your hands on it, you’re going to need to know the 3-digit code to the padlock, and we’re going to walk you through the solution to find it.

When you first check out the shotgun, you will find a sticky note suggesting that the code is “with Lady Fortuna at the counter”. So, head back through the store and look behind the counter.
Near the cash register is a notepad with several crossed-out numbers that, we can assume are previous codes before it was changed.
If you look at the lottery ticket, you see the last two digits of the crossed-out numbers match up with the order of the numbers on the ticket.
Having already crossed a few options out, you should be able to work out that the newest number, and the current code for the padlock, is 739.
So, head back to the padlock, input the combination and et voila, the Alan Wake 2 shotgun is yours.
