WRITTEN, SERVICE SECTION, FORM 2
1. Practice reading many times texts in textbooks.
2. Answer the questions according to the textbook (page 58, 59 textbook)
I. Character introduction text:
How does the narrative introduce the character?
Paragraphs (1) and (2) introduce characters Hung Vuong, Mi Nuong, Son Tinh, Thuy Tinh.
– Paragraph (1) introduces King Hung’s intention to pick a son-in-law, aiming to find a worthy husband for his daughter. The passage has two sentences. Sentence 1 introduces Mi Nuong, sentence 2 states her intention to pick a son-in-law for Mi Nuong. The order of the two sentences cannot be reversed because the latter must come from the former. Sentence 1 is a single sentence, with a noun phrase: Mi Nuong / beautiful person like a flower, gentle personality. In which the following predicate is two clusters C – V. Sentence 2 is a single sentence with an isotope (love, want to pick up for you).
(Note: folk tales often use trivia only: there is one …, one …).
– Paragraph (2) introduces two characters Son Tinh and Thuy Tinh, their intention is to propose to Mi Nuong, their talents are worthy of being the husband of Hung Vuong. Paragraph (2) has 6 sentences. Verse 1 states the main idea of the passage (the two boys’ marriage proposal). Sentences 2 and 3 introduce the talent, whereabouts and name of Son Tinh. Verses 4 and 5 introduce Mercury’s whereabouts, name and talents (by comparison). Sentence 6 evaluates two boys proposing marriage. Sentence 1 is fixed, sentence 6 is fixed, sentences 2, 3 and 4, 5 can be reversed, which means that it is possible to introduce Mercury first without changing the content of the passage. The introductory sentences here are very short.
How does the narrative tell the story?
The passage tells of Thuy Tinh’s angry act, the act of sending troops to attack Son Tinh, the act of making a storm, raising the river to flood Son Tinh, Underline the words for those actions: get angry, bring The army chased after him, made a storm, and raised the river. The act of anger is the psychological state when losing his wife, because of anger, he is determined to bring troops to fight Son Tinh. It is an act of dissolving anger. The act of making a storm, raising water is a measure to realize the intention of revenge. The order of actions represents the logical sequence of human actions going from a psychological state to an action intention to a specific action. The result of the action is: flooding the fields and houses, but not the mountains, because the more the water rises, the mountains move the hills to stop the water.
3. Answer questions according to the textbook:
How does autobiography build a paragraph?
Read the three passages again and answer the questions:
– Paragraph (1) expresses Hung Vuong’s idea of a son-in-law. Paragraph (2) expresses the proposal of Son Tinh and Thuy Tinh. Paragraph (3) expresses Thuy Tinh’s intention to fight Son Tinh to take back Mi Nuong.
– Paragraph (1) has 2 sentences. Sentence 1 is the most important sentence. Sentence 1 introduces Mi Nuong and then talks about her intention to pick a son-in-law for Mi Nuong. Paragraph (2) has 6 sentences. Sentence 1 is the most important sentence. Verse 1 introduces the proposal. Verses 2, 3, 4, 5 introduce the characters to propose marriage. Question 6 evaluates the characters who propose. Paragraph (3) has 3 sentences. Sentence 1 is the most important sentence. Verse 1 states Mercury’s intention of revenge. Verse 2 states Mercury’s revenge action. Sentence 3 states the consequences of an act of revenge (but no victory).
Summary: A paragraph has many sentences, there is a topic sentence often at the beginning of the sentence, the sentences are closely related to each other.
II. Practice (page 60 of the textbook)
In class and at home follow the teacher’s instructions.
1. a) Read 3 paragraphs about Coconut Skull several times.
b) Number the sentences in each paragraph and determine the number of sentences in the paragraph (paragraph 1: 5 sentences, paragraph 2: 3 sentences, paragraph 3: 5 sentences).
c) Paragraph 1 tells the story of Coconut Skull grazing cows for the rich man. The most important idea in the passage is the idea: So Coconut Skull came to the rich man’s house. Sentence 1 states 1 main. Sentence 2 briefly introduces the cow-herding skill of So Dua. Verse 3 talks about the cow-herding method of Coconut Skull. Verse 4 talks about the cow husbandry results of Coconut Skull. Verse 5 talks about the rich man’s mood when he sees that Coconut Skull is good at grazing cows. Thus, the sentences in the sequential paragraph develop the main idea in chronological order and it is impossible to reverse the order of any sentences.
d) Paragraph 2 tells the story of how the rich man’s three sisters treated So Dua. The most important idea is the idea: Day of the season… Coconut skull: Verse 1 states the main idea. Sentence 2 talks about the two sisters’ attitude towards Coconut Skull. Sentence 3 talks about Miss Ut’s attitude towards Coconut Skull. Sentences 2 and 3 develop the idea in sentence 1 in the opposite way: Sentence 2 needs to go before sentence 3 to highlight Miss Ut’s quality.
e) Doan 3 introduces Ms. Dan. The most important idea is this: Her personality is just as young as her age. Sentence 1 introduces the beauty of Ms. Dan. Sentence 2 shows her character Dan, Sentences 3, 4, 5 illustrate her personality. 5 sentences have developed ideas in order from general to specific. Sentence 1 is not the main sentence, but it is necessary, because if she is pretty, people will joke. Sentence 4 seems superfluous, but it can’t be dropped because it shows the sympathy of the guest for her childishness.
Try to practice writing a paragraph introducing your family (to you) and say it orally. (Note: the introduction is to friends, not relatives, not new strangers or teachers…).
Example: “There are four people in my family. My father is a NVT who works as a teacher. He worked diligently. Very gentle temperament. Before teaching, my father graduated from Pedagogical University. My mother is NTH My mother is also a teacher, graduated from the College of Education, but due to weakness, she quit her job before retirement age. My mother is at home, taking care of the food and water. I have never seen anyone as brave as my mother. Is your mother like that too? My sister is a NTV who works as an accountant for a university after graduating from the University of Finance. Like my mother, she is very brave, like my father, she is very kind. She is married and has a child, living with my parents. I love my children so much. Only the first two years old but very nice, talking all sorts of things. The rest is me, your classmate. You probably know what I’m like, no need for an introduction.”
Try to practice writing a paragraph about your daily work (not with friends but with your teacher). Note: the words, language, and manner of address are appropriate to the teacher-student relationship in the direction of the text and language of the lower and the upper..
Practice writing paragraphs to speak differently from paragraphs to read. When speaking (telling stories), always pay attention to identify the object of communication so that the narration is appropriate, the way of address is appropriate.
2. – Sentence (a) is incorrect because you rode a horse and then jumped on a horse.
– Sentence (b) is correct.
3. Suggested example:
a) Intro: Saint Giong. “Once upon a time, a boy was born in a strange way: Mother put her foot on a big footprint in the field, and conceived him again.
b) Introduction: Lac Long Quan.
“Once upon a time, there was a god of the Dragon family, the son of the god Long Nu, whose name was Lac Long Quan. God has health and many miracles.
c) Intro: Au Co..
“Once upon a time, in the high mountains of the North, there lived a beautiful woman named Au Co, belonging to the Shen Nong lineage.”
d) Introduction: Tue Tinh. “Teacher Tue Tinh was once famous as a doctor of medical ethics and talent.”
4. Suggested example:
a) Having had an iron horse, Thanh Giong became a hero. And the horse suddenly jumped up, spewing fire towards the enemy. The fire is bright, wherever it is sprayed, the enemy will fall and die. Fire broke through the senses, advancing to destroy the whole army of the An enemy.
b) The Iron Whip broke because it showed too much strength. There’s nothing left on hand. Surrounded by villages surrounded by ivory bamboo ramparts. With extraordinary strength, the hero crouched down and plucked each bamboo bush, swinging it, as strong as an iron whip. When this dust is over, the hero will pick up another dust and defeat the enemy.

When speaking (telling stories), always pay attention to identify the object of communication so that the narration is appropriate, the way of address is appropriate.

b) The Iron Whip broke because it showed too much strength.
