Quick Solution
- You can add special animated effects to your Instagram DMs using the Text effects feature and animated emoji effect.
- For Text effects, tap the Search icon after typing your message and select the effect.
- For an animated emoji effect, long-press an emoji from the emoji reaction panel.
Method 1: Send Special Text Effects in Instagram Messages
Step 1: Open the chat in the Instagram app where you want to send the effect.
Step 2: Then, type your message and tap on the Magnifying glass icon on the left side.
Step 3. You will see the available special effects at the top. Tap on the one you want to send, and the same effect will appear on the receiver’s end.
Instagram currently supports four text effects.
- Fire effect: The message will have fire around it.
- Animated hearts: The message will have hearts around it, and the screen will also fill with flying hearts.
- Gift box: The message will be hidden in a gift box. The recipient must tap it to open it.
- Confetti: The confetti will be filling the screen.
Method 2: Send Animated Emoji Reactions
Another way to surprise your friends is to send animated emoji effects. Simply select an emoji reaction, and the screen will fill up with multiple flying emojis.
To get this effect, long-press on a message to open the emoji reaction panel. Then, long-press on any emoji until you feel a vibration or see animated emojis. Lift your finger to send the animated emoji effect.
